The first few days locked up in this legalised lunatic asylum, I spent in a semi-euphoric drug induced state, which passed by like a hazy dream of sorts, a dream that I was part of but yet somehow detached from, a dream which saw me drifting mistily down marbled corridors and conversing happily with everyone, a dream which was, eventually, to evolve into a living nightmare and a nightmare that I was, in many ways, never to wake up or recuperate from.
Continued : There was only one event of significance that I can recall which occurred during this drug fuelled, mind altering binge. The tv room, which contained enough space to sit about twenty-five, so called, dangerously insane inmates, was the only room in the entire asylum containing blinds which could be altered from the inside, and hence it was the only way that the prisoners could view the outside world if they so wished, as all the other rooms on the 15th floor were blacked out and unalterable.I, in my drug induced state, recollect opening all the blinds up and encouraging my fellow inmates to view the outside world in all its beauty and splendour, but my efforts were met with only blank, vacant expressions without anybody reacting to my actions. It was only later, as I came out of my altered state and beyond, that I came to realize why they reacted in the way that they did and I am, for all intents and purposes, still living with that realization even to this very day, nevertheless I will have more to say about this later.
